LARGE COMMERCIAL/INDUSTRIAL ROOFS

WYOMING MANUFACTURING FACILITY

BACKGROUND
Large manufacturing facilities and commercial properties often have large flat roofs with minimal pitch. The climate in the mountain west is characterized by our temperature extremes, rapid changes in temperature, dry air, intense sun and high winds. Roofing systems must handle all of these extreme conditions.

The typical approach has been to use tar and gravel with a fiberboard underlayment. We are also starting to see older singleply (rubber) roofs which are starting to fail at the seams and penetrations.

Tar and gravel is losing it's appeal due to the odor during installation and high cost, especially for insulated systems.

Single ply systems have thousands of feet of seams and penetrations where leaks can occur. It is also extremely difficult to find the source of the water that can travel great distances below the membrane. Some single plies have even cracked or blown off and have caused hundreds of leaks in a single roof.

SOLUTION
The Fluid Applied Insulated Rooofing System is seamless and eliminates the thousands of feet of seams found in a rubber membrane roof. The system has very little odor and can often be applied over the existing roof, eliminating costly tearoff and disruption of the activities in the structure. The fact that it is seamless and self flashing leads to very low leak rates. In addition, leaks are easy to find and can't travel through the membrane.

The system has been performing in Colorado and Wyoming for over 30 years with millions of feet installed. The system has proven that it can handle the temperature extremes, intense sun and high winds. The system carries wind ratings up to 225 mph (I-180), an important consideration along the front range.

What Our Customers Say...

"The polyurethane silicone roofing system is an exceptional value, offering tremendous energy savings and very low maintenance. Our stores that have this system have not experienced a single leak."

"Many of the single ply, modified or tar and gravel systems we were using were leaking. We based our decision partly on the success of the system at Texas A & M University over the last 15 years. In addition, the system allowed us to build up slope in a dead flat roof, providing needed insulation and most importantly, stopped our leaks."

Rick Pott
Assistant Director
Colorado State University

"I have used the gravel surfaced, fluid applied, insulated roofing system on two flat roofs on buildings in the Denver area over the last 7 years with excellent results, the system has provided great insulation and a watertight roof.
