SMALL APARTMENT ROOFS/ROW STORES

Denver Area Apartment

Multiple Penetrations

Sealing of Brick Parapets
BACKGROUND
Small apartments, especially older units, often have small flat roofs with multiple vents and stacks and deteriorating brick or block parapets. Most older units have little or no insulation.

The typical existing roof is an old tar and gravel or a smooth surface roof with multiple built up plies coated with an aluminium coating. The roof decking is often timber or wood slatting. The old brick or block parapets are often falling down and are usually covered with multiple attempts to fix leaks with asphalt or tar materials.

SOLUTION
Fluid Applied Insulated Roofing is ideal for sealing the multiple penetrations and handling the low slope conditions. It is also the best material that we are aware of for sealing old brick parapets and block walls. It can even hold crumbling parapets together if necessary.

The system adds about R 6.5 to R 10 of seamless insulation to the building.

TYPICAL INSTALLED COST $2.25 TO $3.50 /SQ FT
